Cotton blankets by Frost add that just right summer-weight layer, perfect for a breezy beachside nap, or a cozy and functional wrap. Wear it as a sarong, a shawl, or lay it down as a seat in your favorite nature spot.

This is one of 12 cotton blankets numbered and made in limited production this year at the Frost Atelier in Eliot, Maine. Woven into a clean, classic modern design, it features the Frost edge, Master Weaver Amala’s signature finish based on ancient Peruvian weaving techniques. It also features the red band, called a Blessing Thread, found in all Frost blankets, giving you our blessing of love, care and compassion.

Our Natural colorway is 100% dye-free!  We use un-dyed cotton for a creamy tone that comes direct from nature – no dyes involved.

Each blanket is produced by hand, and on a human scale.  We take every effort to produce our offering as sustainably as possible. All our materials are closely vetted for quality and care, and sourced from mission-driven operations. Frost blankets are hypoallergenic, and do not include any harmful chemicals, dyes, or additives. All colored yarns have been dyed with organic dyes and/or sustainable dyeing practices. Our home and atelier is powered by solar panels and a wood stove.

Throughout history, textiles have protected, warmed, covered, celebrated, and comforted our loved ones. Each Frost blanket is an embodiment of this human gift of love and compassion. Master Weaver, Amala, has practiced her craft for over 40 years. She invented the finishing technique found throughout each limited run. As every blanket is made by a human hand, slight variation should be expected. With a little care your Frost blanket will satisfy for decades. We still use blankets in our home that Amala made over 30 years ago!
